Monday, June 15th, 2015. BMG: The Ebenezer Methodist Primary School’s feeding program has been running for the past 15 years. During that time it has provided nutritious meals for its needy students and ensuring that no child fails to reach their maximum academic potential due to hunger.
The feeding program was born from the concept that a hungry child cannot learn and has been receiving financial aid from the Rotary Club to keep it afloat but recently, managers of this program have had to search for additional donors to keep the program running properly.
Fortunately for the Ebenezer feeding program and the 75 students that are currently benefiting from it, Speednet Communications stepped up to the plate and agreed to donate $1,500 every 3 months for the next year, with the first cheque being handed over to the school last week.
Coordinators of the feeding program said that they have seen academic improvement in the students that benefit from the program, proving that children cannot focus and excel in school if they are not eating properly.
Speednet says there is a possibility that donations to the Ebenezer feeding program will continue after this first year, depending on the support it gets.
