Thursday, June 25, 2015. BMG: Yesterday in San Pedro, the Ministry of the Public Service observed public service day with an awards ceremony where they recognized outstanding and long serving public officers.
And while they had already been rewarded with an 8% increase – they also got some nice plaques and a chance to shake hands with the Head of State.
Chairperson of the Public Service Day National Committee Freya Parham states that the value and virtue of the Public Service and the work of its members are being recognized, as these persons are rolemodels for society.
Other speakers note that public officers are the instrument of the Belizean people and all times work for them, and that public officers are a bridge between the public and the Government and must recognize their place and work to be exemplary.
