15 year old Tyrique Thompson dies from shooting injuries

Saturday, June 27, 2015. Aaron Humes Reporting: Shooting victim Tyrique Thompson, 15, of Belize City, died of his injuries in hospital on Friday afternoon after falling into a coma since his admittance to the Karl Heusner Memorial Hospital.

He had been shot in the head Monday night on Lakeview Street near Vernon Street. His mother, who was not identified, told local media that she never thought her son, whom she described as “the sweetest, loving, kindest and friendliest person with lots of manners,” would be shot for apparently no reason at all.

The second former of Caanan Seventh Day Adventist High School will be sadly missed by all who knew him.

Meanwhile, 16 year old Ruben Leslie continues to fight for his life after being shot in the head and left leg near Magazine Road the following night, Tuesday.

He too had been riding on his bicycle heading home, in his case after visiting a girlfriend.

Police are investigating both incidents.
