Jerome Smith shot in Belize City

Sunday, July 5^th, 2015. BMG: Belize City Police responded to reports of a shooting incident at Buttonwood Bay Park at around 10:10 p.m on Friday, July 3^rd, where they saw Jerome Smith, a resident of the Buttonwood Bay Area, Belize City, sitting on top of bleachers and bleeding from what appeared to be gunshot wounds.

Smith told police that he was sitting on the bleachers with a friend when a man walked in front of the bleachers, stood in front of them and fired several shots at Smith, hitting him to the back of the neck, right arm, the left side of the chest and left scapula.

The assailant then ran into a grey car that was waiting for him and escaped. Smith is listed in critical but stable condition at the hospital police investigation continues.
