The gunboat caused $46, 000 of estimated damage after drifting into Belizean waters on its way to Mexico.

Minister of Foreign Affairs Wilfred Elrington told reporters on Thursday that they still await a response from the Guatemalan authorities and that these things take time. He expects that they will respond in due time.

The vessel has since been removed and towed home.
