Saturday, July 25th, 2015. Aaron Humes Reporting: More than a dozen standard bearers of the People’s United Party (PUP) are banding together to voice their 20150709_150803dissatisfaction with the party’s leadership.

According to 7 News, the group has been meeting and is expected to make formal demands of the party leadership next week.

This past Tuesday PUP leader Francis Fonseca denied that this group, which includes former leader John Briceno and respected senior lieutenants Cordel Hyde and Dan Silva, deliberately boycotted a meeting of the national executive and standard bearers, but it appears there is more to the story, which we will keep following.

The time to rock the boat is now before it sinks completely. In 1993 the UDP split because of the Maritime Areas Act. One group formed the now defunct NABR and the rest rest remained UDP. The PUP thought that the time was ripe for a surprise election and they went ahead to call it. The rest is now history. Can’t the PUP learn from this? My friends, Credibility needs to return to the PUP. And there are those who still believe that we can do it the present Leadership. PUP wake up!
