Monday, July 27, 2015. BMG: Lesser numbers of arrivals from North America has led to a slowdown in the tourism industry after years of robust growth, the Caribbean Tourism Organization (CTO) reports in the Caribbean Journal.
The 129,316 tourist arrivals reported from January to April of 2015 is down 1.2% from the same period in 2014, according to the CTO. Arrivals from the U.S. are down 1.3% and from Canada, 11.7%.
Belize posted 9.2% year over year growth in arrivals in 2014 and 6.1% in 2013, the CTO reported.
