Department of the Environment warns developers that Environmental clearances are not transferable

Posted: Monday, July 27, 2015. 3:02 pm CST.

Monday, July 27, 2015. BMG: In an effort to minimize negative impacts to human health and our environment, the Department of the Environment (DOE) inform all developers/investors that DOEEnvironmental Clearance is required by law and an Environmental Clearance Plan is not transferable between developers, entities or companies.

A release from the Department reminds all owners who have purchased property for which the previous owner was granted Environmental Clearance, that since it is non-transferable; they must apply to the DOE for clearance under their own company or entity.

This is done to ensure that developments in Belize operate under the best environmental safety standards.
