Wednesday, July 29th, 2015. Aaron Humes Reporting: The Ariel Rosado Memorial Foundation has grown from strength to strength since its formation following the death of its namesake, a cyclist and promising attorney-at-law, in 2011.
It has doubled the number of scholarships it is giving out at all levels of the education system and is on the verge of seeing some of the first recipients graduate from high school and junior college.
At its fourth annual award ceremony held today in Belize City, ten scholarships for primary school students affiliated to the Belize City Sailing Club were made available. Of the remaining 23 scholarships, covering tuition and cost of books, twenty-one went to high school students in four districts and two to students of Galen University in Cayo.
The Foundation’s main fundraising event is the annual bike ride held in memory of Ariel Rosado. Also recognized were several corporate and individual sponsors.
