Belmopan man accused of robbery in Corozal

9. CRIMEWednesday, August 5th, 2015. BMG: Christian Martinez of Salvapan address in Belmopan faces charges for robbery and harm in Corozal Town.

According to Corozal Police, a 10 year old accompanied by his mother, reported that around 12:58 p.m. while in the area of Baiza Layout along with his sister, he was approached by two unknown male persons wearing masks who demanded money from them.

According to the minor one of robbers had a machete which he was swinging while demanding money.

As a result, the 10-year-old received an injury to his left arm and swelling to the back of his head.  Fearing for his life the minor handed over $80.00 and his white LG touch screen phone valued at $280.00 all to a total value of $360.00.

Police have since detained Martinez pending charges of Robbery/Harm.
