First body retrieved from the sea in Corozal has been identified as Andy Grant

Wednesday, August 12, 2015. Orange Walk Bureau Reporting: The body of 41 year old Andy Grant, a resident of San Andres Village was retrieved from the Corozal Bay around 9:15am yesterday morning. body found1

Grants floating body was spotted near the old Market by residents in the area who reported it to the police.

It is unsure if there were any signs of violence on the body.

Officials transported the body to the Corozal Community Hospital but we understand that the facility’s’ morgue is out of order and as a result was transferred to the Northern Regional Hospital.

Family members have gone on record to state that Grant was last seen on Monday evening and that he had a drinking problem.

Family members say Grant had mentioned he would have enrolled in a rehab program the day before his death.

A post mortem to determine the cause of death is uncertain and police investigations continues.
