School leaders get training in order to improve education quality
Thursday, August 13, 2015. Orange Walk Bureau Reporting: Countrywide training sessions for teachers, Administrators and Principals are currently being held over the summer break.
That is because the Ministry of Education is embarking in its CPD Professional Development training where school leaders are learning to computerize vital information about their students, teachers and schools in the hope that timely interventions can be put in place.
Here at the Orange Walk Technical High School, educators are engaged in an Open Education Management Information System or Open EMIS for short.
Bernardino Pech is the Research and Planning Coordinator in the Ministry of Education says the module will serve to better access information of all its stakeholders. And while the system is in its initial stages of developing, they are equipping the school leaders in understanding and operating the module.
Coordinator in the Ministry of the Education, Jesus Dominguez says this week’s training has the participation of secondary school leaders and teachers. They are aiming on providing quality education at all levels he adds.
