Monday, August 31, 2015. Victor Castillo Reporting: The last report that was made by the GSIP which stands for the Guadalupe Street Improvement Project was that the Government of Belize had approved their request that the General Sales Tax for the overall cost of the rehabilitation of Guadalupe Street would be waived to ease the project of an approximately$30,000.00 of the total cost.
This morning heavy machinery and road barricades were seen installed in the area as works on Guadalupe Street kicked off.
In an interview with Mayor Kevin Bernard this morning, he told reporter Victor Castillo that the Guadalupe Street project was well over due and prior to Fiestarama event, he had committed a portion of the generated funds for the infrastructure of Guadalupe Street.

The project is estimated to cost somewhere around $160,000.00. Guadalupe is a main traffic artery in Orange Walk Town and drivers are asked to use the Belize Road as works are currently being done on Guadalupe Street.
