Friday, September 4th, 2015. Aaron Humes Reporting: The end of life can be lonely and even painful, but reaching out for help can get you past your challenges.
That help is now available from the Breadfruit Gardens Assisted Living Facility, which will open to the public later this evening.
Before then, BMG was the first media house to get a sneak peek of the facility and speak to co-proprietor Delfena Mitchell.
Older persons who have trouble taking care of themselves or who may be physically infirm are encouraged to consider moving to the 2-acre facility in Lake Gardens behind the BTL tower.
The facility was recently the Mitchell family home, and still resembles a family setting. Mrs. Mitchell says this will help residents feel less lonely as they partake in various activities and stay active in their golden years.
Services include, but are not limited to 24 hour supervision and personal care, meals, housekeeping and laundry, transportation and access to medical services.
There are 12 beds available and the cost is BZ $1200 per month. This can be shared between multiple persons.
