The parents were not protesting against the government but against the school’s very own principal, Ms. Policarpia Pech, who they claim has been mistreating both students and teachers for the past four years.
Classes were suspended for the entire day as parents told their children to stay home and the General Manager of Primary Schools, Raymond Shepard, was called in to act as a mediator, attempting to resolve the dispute so that classes could have resumed today.
Shepard met with the strike group twice yesterday and was unable to come to an agreement as they insisted that classes would not resume until an agreement was made.
Another meeting was scheduled for 8:30 this morning with Shepard who hoped that classes could resume by tomorrow.
