Elderly psychiatric patient raped by fellow inmate

Tuesday, September 8th, 2015. BMG: Administrator of the Palm view resident psychiatric center in Belmopan, Michelle O’Brien, has told journalists that investments will be made in security after a female patient suffered sexual assault at the hands of a fellow resident last week.

Police are investigating, but it appears that the attack came while medication was being given out in the evening of August 31.

There was an earlier altercation involving the alleged attacker and he was under supervision, but it appears he either got away or was unattended and sought out the victim in the dining area.

The two have been separated and the staff have been placed on high alert.
