GOB to provide aid to Dominica after tropical storm
Wednesday, September 9, 2015. BMG: The Government of Belize will be providing financial aid to Dominica to assist with relief efforts in that country after tropical storm Erika caused severe flooding and property and infrastructural damages.
After Tropical Storm Erika hit Dominica on August 26th, causing massive damage, Hon. Roosevelt Skerrit, Prime Minister of that Commonwealth Nation, wrote a letter to Belize’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, seeking assistance to recover from the tragedy.
In a press release issued by the Government of Belize today, it is stated that our Ministry of Foreign Affairs will be making a cash contribution of US$125,000 to the government of Dominica to help with their relief efforts.
That donation will be made sometime today, September 9th, into the account provided in Dominica’s damage assessment report.
