Few showers and thunderstorms expected for the weekend

Thursday, October 1st, 2015. BMG: The National Meteorological service of Belize predicts mainly fair conditions to prevail over most areas this morning. weather feature october 1Moisture and instability increase later today and tonight.

The 24 hour forecast is for sunny with cloudy spells this morning with isolated showers and thunderstorms.

Skies will become cloudy with showers and thunderstorms increasing inland and in northern areas this afternoon, spreading to coastal areas later this evening and tonight.

Winds blow from the west to northwest at 5 to 15 knots.

Sea state remains choppy.

High temperatures in the coast are expected to reach 90 degrees F., 96 degrees F. inland and 68 degrees F. in the Hills.

A high tide is expected at 12:35 pm and a low tide at 6:03pm.

The sun sets in at 5:42pm.

The extended outlook until Friday morning is for cloudy spells with few showers and thunderstorms mostly over the southern part of the country.

Showers and thunderstorms will increase again inland and in northern areas later Friday afternoon and move to the coastal areas by Friday evening and into the night.
