BEL explains power outage

Sunday, October 18th, 2015. BMG: A release from Belize Electricity Limited (BEL) issued this morning, serves to inform the public of the reason why power was cut off from the entire Lake Independence area of Belize City.

The release stated that this was an emergency outage and the power supply was disconnected from 9:19 a.m. to eliminate hazards in the Antelope Street extension area due to the flooding.

Those areas affected by the outage are: Central American Boulevard from Cemetery Road to Faber’s Road, Iguana Street, Raccoon Street, Neal Pen Road, Kraal Road and Monroe Street. Power is expected to be restored at 1:00 p.m.
