Electrical accident believed to cause house fire

Monday, October 26, 2015. BMG:  Belize City fire department responded to a fire on 1809 Henderson Avenue in Belize City on Friday October 23th. Upon arrival they saw smoke coming out from the windows and the roof area of a green bungalow concrete structure. house fire banner

According to the police report, the owner is 71-year-old Vinnie Ramos, a retired teacher of Belize City. Initial investigation revealed that she locked up her home about 11:45 a.m. to do some errands while leaving the gas dryer on, which is believed to have caused the fire.

The house is insured with Atlantic Insurance; however its content were not insured. The value of the damages is still uncertain and investigations into the cause of the fire are ongoing.
