Former journalist joins Bar

Friday, November 20^th, 2015. Aaron Humes Reporting: Ivy Pitts is back in Belize after several years away studying law. Today she was formally made a member of the Bar of Belize and appeared in the Supreme Court before Chief Justice Kenneth Benjamin.

She told us that she was proud and humbled by her achievement and looks forward to serving the people of Belize but she has not decided what branch of law she will practice or where she will read law.

Ivy’s two sponsors were Senior Counsel Fred Lumor and Oswald Twist. She is the daughter of Retired Sergeant of Police, Gilbert Pitts, known for his contribution to community and youth policing. We extends congratulations to Ivy and best wishes for success in her new career path.
