Belize Tourism Board gives out tourism related scholarships

Tuesday, November 24th, 2015. BMG: Late last week, nine scholarships were handed out to selected outstanding female academic performers by the Belize Tourism Board (BTB), BTB logowhich are to assist them in furthering their education at the tertiary level.

The scholarships varied in type, with three being given for two-year studies at a Junior College offering a tourism program, four others for a Bachelor’s degree in tourism management at the University of Belize and two $10,000 grants to go towards a culinary program.

Recipients of these scholarships were: Giselle Rodriguez, Amina Cal, Monique Tucker, Jewel Williams, Alexander Cal, Gariesha Teck, Delmi Carillo, Natalia Silva and Angel Rodriguez.

A release from the BTB stated that the selection process for recipients included a score sheet, which judged grades, community service experience, work experience and an essay describing career goals and achievements.
