One dead in traffic accident down south, Belize

Monday, November 30, 2015.  BMG: To add to the long list of traffic accidents that happened over the past week across the country, another one was reported on Friday November 27^th, this time in the Stann Creek District, which unfortunately ended in tragedy as 55-year-old Nelly Lopez lost her life after falling out of a pickup pan.

Police visited the Southern Regional Hospital around 2:40 p.m. on the mentioned date and saw the lifeless body of Lopez, who had succumbed to serious head and body injuries after brake failure and a sudden swerve, caused her to fall out the back of a Mazda Pickup that was being driven by her 19-year-old son Edgar Lopez at the time.

Edgar reportedly swerved to avoid a collision between miles 16 and 17 after his brakes failed and his mother fell to her untimely death. Police investigations continue.
