Tuesday, December 1st 2015. Aaron Humes Reporting: Prime Minister Dean Barrow won a historic consecutive third term at the polls on November 4th but he shared – the day after – that he will retire as leader of the United Democratic Party even before the end of his 5 year term.
While the Prime Minister has had those plans from early on, it appears that – so too – have the details of his successor in the Queens Square division been worked out, and we can tell you that the candidate will remain “in the family”. During Saturday’s media interview, the Prime Minister confirmed that his younger sister, Denise Barrow, known as “Sister B,” is expected to take over the mantle from him once he retires as standard bearer in the Queen Square Division.
At the post-election press conference on November 5, the Prime Minister readily admitted that he had not campaigned at all in his division, and his victory was entirely due to Sista B’s work.
Barrow also confirmed that his first son, Moses “Shyne” Barrow, has his blessings to contest the Mesopotamia Division for the UDP after the Honorable Michael Finnegan retires at the end of this term.
