Friends for Conservation and Development found Guatemalans illegally entering Belize

FCD BelizeBy Chrisbert Garcia: A joint patrol between members of the Belize Police Department and Friends for Conservation and Development (FCD) conducted on Wednesday, resulted in another discovery of Guatemalan Nationals who had entered the country illegally.

Around 1:22 p.m., while on foot patrol in the Sapote 2 area of Cayo District, the team stopped and searched 25 year old Ever Malkesivex Lopez Suchitte of San Jose Las Flores Guatemala and another person that was accompanying him at the time.

On Suchitte’s person, the patrol team found a 9 millimeter pistol with a magazine and six live rounds of ammunition for which he could not produce a license. The two were escorted to the police station and are pending charges of “Illegal Entry” while Suchitte faces additional charges of “Kept Firearm without a Gun License” and “Kept Ammunition without a Gun License.”
