Two arrested for $12,000 robbery

By BMG Staff : A 21-year-old Clerk of Santa Elena, Edvik Guerra and a 23-year-old carpenter of the same municipality, Leroy Myvette, were both charged in connection with an armed robbery which took place last week Friday as Lester Wagner, invoicing clerk for Santiago Castillo Limited, was counting money with a coworker in their delivery truck.

26-year-old Wagner reported to police that around 9:15 p.m. that night, they were sitting in the truck parked in Belize Bank’s parking lot on Constitution Drive, Belmopan City, when a man of dark complexion in black clothing, approached and robbed him at gunpoint of cash amounting to $12,160.

Police were able to quickly recover $8,207 of the stolen cash and a 9 millimeter pistol with 14 live rounds. As a result of this incident, Guerra was charged for the offense of “Conspiracy to Commit Robbery” and Myvette was charged for the offenses of “Robbery”, “Kept Ammunition without a gun License” and “Kept Firearm without a gun License”.
