By Chrisbert Garcia: A Tour Guide operating on Goff’s Caye, 52-year-old Glenford Gill, reported to police yesterday evening that around 4:00 p.m., after some tourists had left the Caye, a man he knows only as Henry approached him and demanded money.
Gill stated that after he refused to hand over the money, the apparently intoxicated man pulled out a machete and chopped him to the left side of the head then fled in his boat. Gil was taken to the Karl Heusner Memorial Hospital and released after treatment.
Police investigations continue.
