By Aaron Humes: Belize’s uniformed services, particularly the Belize Police Department, have been growing by leaps and bounds for the last BDF-Borderseveral years, especially due to a commitment of the Government to increase manpower.

The Belize Defence Force has seen its share of that growth, and there is more on the way, according to Brigadier General David Jones. However, that growth will be managed, through an ongoing strategic review which will determine the future of the force.

In conjunction with that review are plans to increase retirement age for BDF officers from 45 to early 50’s in compliance with brother forces around the region, in an effort to extend longevity of careers.
