Posted: Tuesday, December 22, 2015. 3:11 pm CST.

Aaron Humes: This afternoon police from Eastern Division (Rural) were out on the Philip Goldson Highway conducting random stops of buses travelling to Belize City, but not for the usual reason.a5bd12cd-2922-4507-8b75-dc830b987048

They were handing out 100 dollar bills to passengers from the Rural area as part of Operation REDSS- Rural Eastern Division Silent Santa.

Senior Superintendent Edward Broaster says it is their way of giving back to the community which they serve.

Passengers doing Christmas shopping will also get a free ride to the City in an air conditioned van donated by Caribbean Motors.

They were all quite pleased.
