Belize City woman charged for making false report

By Chrisbert Garcia: A Neal’s Pen Road resident, 45-year-old Sharon Burgess, was arrested and charged for the offenses of “theft” and “mischievous act” earlier today, after making a false report of a robbery to Belize City police.

Burgess told police that yesterday evening around 4:45, she was robbed of $3,894 by two males of dark complexion who used an ice pick to intimidate her, then made good their escape with her cash.

The police’s Criminal Investigation Branch ran a check on the report and found that it was false.
