By Dalila Ical: The Ministry of Natural Resources and Immigration, along with the Belize Solid Waste Management Authority (BSWMA), issued a press release earlier today, announcing to the general public that the Burrell Boom Transfer Station at Mile 7 on the Burrell Boom/Hattieville Road is now in operation.
It warns motorists to exercise caution when approaching the old Burrell Boom dump-site as trucks are moving in and out, which can cause accidents. It also asks the public to discontinue dumping at the entrance of that site and to make use of the transfer station building.
Operation hours for the new transfer station are as follows:
Monday to Friday from 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.
Saturday from 8:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m.
Sunday – Closed
The release ends by stating: “There is only one Belize, so do your part and help us to keep it clean.”
