By Aaron Humes: A car dealer from Georgeville, Cayo, is reportedly recovering in hospital after being shot in the head by a group of robbers in the state of Tabasco in Mexico.
The dealer, who was said to be in an 18-wheeler truck towing a container that was part of a convoy of more than ten vehicles traveling to Belize, apparently got temporarily separated from the group and decided to stop for gas in the city of Villahermosa.
But that’s when he was ambushed by the group of 5 armed robbers who pulled up in a vehicle and attacked him and his friend who was traveling in the truck.
We are told that the friend was robbed, and while the crime was in progress, one of the assailants shot the dealer in the head. The extent of his injuries are not yet clear but early suggestions were that he may have only been grazed.
