Motorcyclist dies in bizarre accident

By Chrisbert Garcia: It was reported by Anna Lizette Sanchez that her brother, 29-year-old Eddy Alberto Sanchez of Buena Vista village, was involved in a traffic accident and had to be rushed to the Karl Heusner Memorial Hospital (KHMH) on Saturday, December 19th around 5:00 p.m.

Police then investigated the matter and found out that Eddy was riding his Meilun 125cc Motorcycle into the compound of Belize Concrete Ltd, when upon turning off the highway into the compound, located on the outskirts of Spanish Lookout, Cayo District, he collided into a cable wire used as a barrier for the compound, which was hung across the road.

The motorcyclist sustained serious head and body injuries for which he had to be rushed to the Western Regional Hospital in a Belize Emergency Response Team (BERT) ambulance and was then transferred to the KHMH for further treatment in an attempt to save his life. Unfortunately, on Monday, December 28th around 2:00 p.m., Eddy succumbed to his injuries.

His body now awaits a post mortem examination at the KHMH morgue. Police investigation continues.
