Orange Walk Police bag over quarter million dollars of weed

Dalila Ical:  On Sunday Orange Walk Police’s Quick Response Team intercepted two men as they hauled a big shipment of cannabis.

The men were caught on a feeder road off the Phillip Goldson Highway between miles 42 and 43 and found nine bales of weed wrapped in black plastic bags. The drug totaled a little over 183 pounds. Both men were detained and up to late this afternoon were still pending charges of drug trafficking.

Police say the street value of the drugs found is in the vicinity of $350, 000 Belize dollars.
