By Aaron Humes: Joy Grant most recently served as a Senator and Minister of Energy, Science, Technology and Public Utilities between 2012 and 2015.
But we understand that she has accepted the post of Director of the Financial Intelligence Unit (FIU), succeeding Eric Eusey, who assumed the post only a year ago.
Grant is the fifth head of the unit and third woman to lead the FIU, according to today’s edition of the Amandala.
In addition to her political duties, she is the first and current chair of the National Bank of Belize and was previously ambassador of Belize to the European Union (EU), between 2008 and 2012, managing director of the Nature Conservancy Office in Arlington, Virginia, USA from 2001 to 2005 and executive director of Programme for Belize from 1989 to 2001.
