Police say burglary was motive for attack on Simon Lamb Street

By Aaron Humes: Police say they recovered a flat screen television stolen from the residence of Dr. Marcos Christopher Rugama Miranda on Simon Lamb Street and have detained three persons as part of their investigations. burglary

However, Dr. Rugama is in stable condition after being stabbed in the chest by one of two persons, while his friend Ian Robert Blair, 37, of Lizarraga Avenue is dead, fatally stabbed while struggling with the two home invaders.

The incident happened around 1:45 Wednesday morning when Dr. Rugama was returning from his back veranda after taking in clothes. He saw Blair being assaulted by two armed men with a firearm and knife. The doctor rushed into action, throwing a piece of furniture and other appliances at the assailants who turned on him before taking the television set and fleeing. However, police responded quickly and caught the group almost immediately.
