Orange Walk police seek arson suspect

By Dalila Ical.: Orange Walk Police are seeking one man suspected of lighting a fire that destroyed a wooden house on Thursday. Arson

According to a report made to police by 26-year-old Jeovannie Mejia of Otro Benque Street, he received a call around 9:13 Thursday morning from a friend who informed him that his brother, Andy Leroy Mejia, had lit his house on fire.

When he arrived home, he found that indeed his small wooden, two story house with zinc roofing measuring 25 by 12 feet had been set ablaze. His home and all his belongings were destroyed in the fire. There was no insurance on the house or its contents and the estimated loss is about $15,000.

Police are investigating the matter and are seeking Andy Leroy Mejia who is considered, at the moment, a suspect in the case.
