Progresso resident charged for drugs and ammo

By Victor Castillo Sr.: A Progresso man has been charged for possession of controlled drug and keeping ammunition without a gun license.

Raul Pech, from the Corozal district, is today facing the long arm of the law after police busted him sometime after 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday January 27^th. He was intercepted by police who were on patrol on the Progresso Road.

According to the police report, officers’ attentions were drawn to two Hispanic men who were traveling on a black Meilum Motorcycle in the direction of San Estevan.

While conducting the search police found 2 grams of cannabis and a single 16 gauge cartridge.

Pech was subsequently arrested and charged with one count of ‘possession of a controlled drug’ and ‘one count of keeping ammunition without a gun license’.
