Two men pending murder charges for Saturday morning stabbing

By Chrisbert Garcia: Belize City police have arrested two male persons pending charges of murder after a stabbing incident in the wee hours of Saturday morning, claimed the life of 32-year-old Stann Creek resident, Mariano Castillo.

Around 12:50 a.m., police were dispatched to the Karl Heusner Memorial Hospital (KHMH) where they saw Castillo suffering from a stab wound to the abdomen and investigations revealed that he was walking with his common-law-wife and two other persons on Mahogany Street Extension when three men approached and an altercation ensued.

Castillo was stabbed during the confrontation and succumbed to his injury at 1:45 a.m. while undergoing treatment. Police have since arrested 27-year-old John Grinage and Brandon Baptist for the murder of Castillo.
