Police operation in Punta Gorda nets half pound of weed and ammo

By Chrisbert Garcia: A joint operation conducted in the Toledo District yesterday by police, customs personnel and the K-9 Unit, resulted in the discovery of ammunition and more than half pound of cannabis.

From 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., the team searched areas in Punta Gorda Town and surrounding villages, finding the cannabis, amounting to an exact weight of 241.68 grams and seven live rounds of 9 millimeter ammunition in an abandoned lot on Papaya Street.

No one was found in the area at the time of the search, so the drugs and ammunition were deposited as “found property”.
