According to a government press release, the purpose of the field day was to showcase the technological package in quality seed production of open pollinated corn and beans.
Present at the event were the main stake holders of the project, which consisted of farmers from the Toledo, Stann Creek and Cayo Districts.
It is expected that from the experience gained at the field day, farmers will adopt good agriculture practices in seed production and thus improve productivity and quality of corn and beans in their business enterprise.
