By BBN Staff: Edmond Castro, the area representative for Belize Rural North and Minister of National Emergency Management, with funds secured from the Government of Belize, is currently undertaking a project to mitigate flooding in the Maskall-Bomba area, which is expected to be completed by next the end of this month.
This project includes elevating the access road from Maskall to Bomba Village with cement culverts across the Quashy Banner Creek, allowing accessibility through the area for farmers and other residents in the rainy season.
According to a press release issued today, residents of those villages are expressing heartfelt gratitude to Castro and the Prime Minister for making funds available to do this project and Castro says that more projects of this sort are in planning to be executed before the start of the hurricane season on June 1.
