By Aaron Humes: Since 1984, Belize has been celebrating Child Stimulation Month, a chance for the Jewel’s youngest citizens to experience more of the world around them. Every March, pre-schoolers interact with their community through trips, visits from adult leaders and activities such as culture and sports day and a pre-school version of the Festival of the Arts.
A giant parade in Belize City and in each district on Tuesday marked the start of this year’s activities, held under the theme “Early Childhood Development – The Foundation to a Brighter Belize!”
Also on the list of activities are culture and sports days and an expo by the department on March 16 in Belize City.
Minister of Education Patrick Faber was guest speaker in the Belize City ceremony.
