By Aaron Humes: Thirty-seven year old Eldon Bevans, a printer of Jane Usher Boulevard, Belize City, was charged with burglary and wounding when he appeared today before Senior Magistrate Sharon Fraser.
At first Bevans pleaded guilty to the charges. But when the facts were read to him he changed his plea from guilty to not guilty. The incident occurred on January 5, 2016. The complainant, 56 year old Calbert Ferguson, reported to the police that he was at home at his Linda vista residence with his common-law wife, Kenisha Vernon, when he felt a hard knock on his head which caused him to lose consciousness.
He said when he regained consciousness he found himself at the Karl Heusner Memorial Hospital.
Ferguson had cuts under his right eye and the right side of his face was swollen.
