5. MURDERBy Aaron Humes: Reliable sources say there is a 15 year old minor in police custody tonight regarding last Wednesday afternoon’s murder of Victor Garnett in Belize City.

Also in custody are two known street figures who have previously been accused of murder and are being questioned in relation to their alleged involvement, but they may be released by newstime tonight as there are no clear connections. A second minor was picked up and questioned last night but has been released.

The 15 year old is reportedly not from Belize City – he is said to be from the South –  and police linked him to the murder after surveillance footage showed him in the area. Police would not say much about what else the surveillance camera picked up on the murder of Garnett, but only that the minor was seen on the footage and what he was seen doing has not yet been revealed.

The accused moved out from his mother’s house and was only in the city for a short period prior to be accused of being the “toddler” shooter in Garnett’s murder. We were reliably informed that Garnett’s murder was a paid hit, related to drugs.

The minor is being represented by a Belize City attorney who has since spoke to him since word got out that he was allegedly being roughed up whilst in police custody to confess to the murder, but he has not done so.
