By Aaron Humes: 44 year old Rosalia Castillo continues to serve a 12 year sentence on aCastillo manslaughter charge after her appeal to the Court of Appeal was dismissed today. Supreme Court Justice Antoinette Moore found Castillo guilty of the lesser charge to murder in Belmopan in December of 2014, sitting without a jury.

Castillo fatally stabbed her live-in partner of two years, 34 year old mother of three Pamela Perez, in a reported argument over money in December of 2012.

Castillo’s attorney, Anthony Sylvestre, had appealed over questions of not giving certain directions that would have possibly gone in his client’s favour, but the court panel dismissed each ground.

The Crown was represented by the Director of Public Prosecutions, Cheryl-Lynn Vidal.
