Custom broker detained for bar shooting

By BBN Staff: Michael Eric Williams Jr., 27, has been detained and is pending charges for discharging his firearm in public.

The incident happened around 12:25 this morning at a bar on the corner of St. Thomas and Dunn Streets in Belize City.

Williams fired several shots into the air in front of the bar then drove off in his car, police reported. There is no indication there may have been any altercation.

When a police mobile dispatched to the scene reached, Williams had already been detained by another officer near the bar.

He is expected to be charged for the incident.
