It all goes down tonight. In Belmopan, the Belmopan Bandits will face the Tiger Sharks and the Dangriga Warriors will travel to Belize to take on the Belize Hurricanes.
Both return matches will be held on Saturday.
The Hurricanes will play in Dangriga against the Warriors and the Bandits will travel to San Pedro to take on the Tiger Sharks.
Belmopan Bandit’s Jarrell Velasquez told BBN: “We made the playoffs last year and here we are again. It feels great to be able to be in again this year and compete for a championship. The team plan is to win by any means necessary.”
Dangriga Warriors Jamir Flores said: “We were the 4th seed last year. We are back this season with a little bit more experience in our pocket, confident that we can compete with any team. Our team plan is to go out and try to execute what we practice all season long. Give it our all”.
Smart Belize Hurricanes Jacob Leslie said: “Last year our team was eliminated in the last game of the regular season by a loss to the very same team we are scheduled to meet in the first round of this year’s playoffs. This season we are the #1 seed entering the playoffs. It feels good to make the playoffs, especially being the #1 because that means we have home court advantage throughout the playoffs. But we are not satisfied and the team is focused on finishing the task of winning a championship. This was the goal we have set for ourselves from the beginning of training camp”.
