marijuanaBy BBN Staff: Police operations in Belize City and Orange Walk Town over the weekend yielded a total of 19.1 pounds of cannabis and a 9 millimeter pistol but no arrests were made.

On Friday morning in Belize City, between the hours of 5:30 and 8:00, officers searched Munoz Alley, where inside a black plastic, 138 grams of cannabis was found.

Authorities in Orange Walk also found cannabis while conducting searches last night in an abandoned lot on Asuncion Street. In that area, officers found a black bag containing a total of 8,525 grams of the illegal drug.

In a separate search conducted by Orange Walk Police yesterday on Smith Sonia Street, a black 9 millimeter pistol was discovered in an abandoned house.

No one was in any of the areas at the times of the searches, so the weed and gun were deposited as “found property”.
