9. CRIMEBy BBN Staff: A 20-year-old Belize City resident, Aaron Garbutt Jr., was treated and released from the Karl Heusner Memorial Hospital (KHMH) last night after being shot to the right upper thigh and finger.

Garbutt told police that around 5:00 yesterday evening while he and a friend were standing at the corner of King and Far West Streets in Belize City, they saw a 4-door Kia SUV drive up and park about 10 feet away from them.

After being parked for a short while, a male person wearing a mask exited the vehicle’s back passenger side and fired several shots in their direction, injuring Garbutt before the man got back inside and the SUV sped off.

Police investigations continue.
